Tip of the hat this month has to go to Tom Gammon and his two able assistants Morris Spector and Lonnie Barkow. The three of them had the parking “concession” at our new location for the High Holidays. They made sure everyone had a place to park and things went smoothly. With temperatures in the 90’s this wasn’t an easy job. Thanks gentlemen for a superb job, well done. Things couldn’t have been handled any smoother...

Marcy Prince and Butch are going up to Pennsylvania for her High School Class reunion and also a reunion with cousins she hasn’t seen since she was 8 years old...

Julianne Isis Scherker, daughter of Patricia Isis and Steve and Beatriz Llano-Scherker was recently honored at the University of Florida as an Anderson Scholar. This was for maintaining a 4.0 in her first 2 years within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Mazeltov to all as the parent’s kvell…

For those of you who didn't celebrate Veterans day at Beth Or you really missed a wonderful event.  Rabbi Rebecca was out of town and Shep Faber led the very moving services.  He had a number of our veterans take part in the services including Jerry Pollak who read/sang a moving poem and Tom Gammon who presented a very touching talk on Patriotism.  Rich O'Hare also gave a very moving talk on patriotism and what it meant to the O'Hare family, mainly his son, the Marine, Danny....

I am pleased to announce that my grandaughter, Sara Reichert is taking advantage of the Birth rite program and going to Israel December 27.  This program is available,free, to any jewish student between the ages of 18-26 who has never been to Israel.  Sara will be 26 in April and decided to take advantage of it.  (she is getting married in July)....

Patricia Isis received a write up in the October issue of the National Educational Association Journal.  She is an ar t-therapist with Miami Dade County Schools.  She says "by using the creative process of art we can improve and enhance their mental and emotional well being".
