Celebrate 60 years of Israel's Independence and the first night of Chanukah

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4th

Special community celebration of Chanukah and Israel's 60th with a concert by the IDF Musical Ensemble and particpation of all local synagogues. (at Bet Breira)

Immediately prior to the concert,  South Dade teens will be leading an Israel Solidarity Walkathon from Chabad of Kendall to Bet Breira to show support and solidarity with the people of Israel in this 60th year of Israel's independence.

WALK AS ONE – Participant Instructions

    ARRIVAL  Please arrive by 5:00 p.m. to Chabad of Kendall

PARKING
Parking will be available around Chabad and also near Bet Breira at the Baptist Hospital parking garage accessed from S.W. 92nd Street and S.W. 87th Avenue – a shuttle bus will be able to bring you to Chabad. Please leave a lot of additional time if you choose to park near Bet Breira. Shuttle buses will run from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. There will not be a shuttle bus available after the concert so keep that in mind if you plan to leave your car near Chabad.
 
FOOD
Food will be available at Chabad and at Bet Breira – all food is kosher and being provided by Ilana’s Cookies and Catering. For each food box of $5 each, choice of Tuna, Grilled Vegetable or Turkey warp, drink, chips, pickle and Chanukah cookies.
 
CHECK-IN
1.            When you arrive at Chabad, please check-in with your group’s representative who will be standing next to the Walk As One Check-in table.   All group representatives should be standing near the Walk As One check-in table.
 
2.            The group representative will collect any pledge forms and money and put everything in the manilla envelope provided to each group.   The group representative will then see Ann Ballen at the Walk As One check-in table and give her all the pledge forms and money.
 
3.            If there are B’nai Mitzvah teens in your group, please have them check-in with Jodi Orshan at the check-in table since they will walk at the front of the group.
 
4.            At the check-in table, you will be given an FIDF blue band, flags, glow sticks and glow necklaces.
 
PROGRAM
1.            The program at Chabad will begin with a special Chanukah candle lighting ceremony at 5:15 p.m.
 
2.            The walkathon will begin at 5:30 p.m.   The group will walk along 87th Avenue until Bet Breira. Approximate arrival time at Bet Breira is 6:15 p.m.
 
 
WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR
1.      Everyone walking should bring flashlights and a rain poncho or umbrella. The walk will take place rain or shine.
2.      Please make posters or bring your banners with messages of solidarity with Israel.
3.      We encourage everyone to wear blue and white and to wear, to wear your youth group’s t-shirt and/or to wear a t-shirt from Israel.
