The Beth Or Rabbi Transition Team has been active in gathering information so that we can begin planning for our future. The team has interviewed Rabbi Mark Kram and has invited him to guest lead Shabbat Services. Rabbi Mark Kram has been a spiritual leader in our South Dade community for a number of years. 
 
Rabbi Kram will be leading a service as a guest Rabbi at Beth Or on Friday, January 25th and we encourage all of you to attend.
 
Rabbi Kram has had many experiences since being ordained in 1978. Please read his biography below.
 
RABBI MARK S. KRAM  BIOGRAPHY
Ordained at the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in Cincinnati, Ohio, he also studied in Jerusalem.  Rabbi Kram holds a Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters from Hebrew Union College, a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri in philosophy, psychology and social work.  He was honored by the HUC-JIR in March of 2003 with the degree Doctor of Divinity (honorary) for 25 years of service to the Jewish community. 
 
Rabbi Kram's career spans from campus to synagogue and Jewish organizational life.  He worked with college students for twenty years - as Director of Hillel at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, and served as Executive Director of the Florida Hillel Council, directing a program on twenty-five campuses throughout the State of Florida. In Tampa, he served as Jewish chaplain at the Veteran's Administration Hospital.  He has also served as Associate Rabbi and spiritual leader at Temple Beth Am, Miami.
 
Joining his rabbinic and business education and experience, today Rabbi Kram advises not-for-profit organizations in capacity building.  He is also a Florida Supreme Court certified Family and County Mediator, professional Coach and continues to serve his community as a rabbi. 
 
Rabbi Kram has been an active member of the Miami community for the past 28 years.  He and his wife, Mindy, have three grown children.  He loves to spend time in Miami's glorious outdoors exercising, biking, kayaking, and boating.
