From ancient times to the present day, Jews have been concerned with the ways in which we use speech and language. Be it or oral, written or virtual, our use of language can help or hurt; it has the power to nurture or destroy relationships and the communities that we build.

In this class, we will study and discuss a variety of Jewish texts on the ethics of speech-from Talmudic sources to traditional commentaries to current books and articles, our goal is to create an ethics of speech that enables us to support and sustain the relationships in our lives.
