Our annual YARD SALE is here!

It's time to start collecting those items you haven't used for the past ten years, and donating them to Beth Or. The yard sale is one of our
biggest fund raisers - we make more than $6000 - and our largest community wide event.

It depends on the generous and enthusiastic support of the entire membership. We all make it happen!

We're hoping many of you will volunteer to assist with sale preparation, as well as with the sale itself. Volunteers work hard, but have a terrific time. Volunteering is a great way to become involved, make friends, and support Beth Or.

We have a stream-lined organization process and it’s important for everyone to follow these instructions, so we can set-up as efficiently as possible.

When merchandise is dropped off, it will be placed immediately for sale. For example, clothing will be hung directly in the chickee. In order for this to work, the merchandise must come in good shape, and sorted by category. We will not have time to go through your bags of stuff and sort it out.

Here are specific guidelines:

l. CLOTHING: All clothing must be CLEAN AND IN GOOD CONDITION!
All suits, shirts, dresses, skirts, clacks, blouses, sweaters, jackets, nice tops, etc. must                                            be on hangers.
Tops, jeans, etc. should be folded and sorted by category. (Note: We do not need extra hangers!)
Better quality clothing, shoes, and purses go in the BOUTIQUE, which is in the Oneg room. This area has been a huge success, so please part with those special goodies you are no longer using.

2. TOYS: Again, sort! Separate games, stuffed animals, sporting goods, etc.
3. ELECTRONICS: Bring only what is in good condition. Provide any pertinent info: approx. value, etc.

4. NO JUNK! Junk takes up time and space. So, NO OLD KITCHEN PLASTICS, FILE CABINETS, BROKEN APPLIANCES, THINGS WITH MISSING PARTS, MAGAZINES, OLD TEXTBOOKS, etc. We will refuse any merchandise that falls in this category.

 5. We will not be selling large furniture at the sale, as we have limited space and ability to protect large items. However, in the past we have made over $600 by selling furniture amongst ourselves privately, and by placing furniture in consignment. If you have furniture to donate, contact Marcy or Rowena, and we will place a description and/or photos in the newsletter, and possibly on a sign board at the sale. Potential buyers
can contact sellers directly; proceeds can then be given to Beth Or. This process can begin now; you don't need to wait until the sale.

This process has worked great, but there always could be snafoos, especially if everyone arrives at the Temple at the same time with drop-offs. Your PATIENCE and COOPERATION are essential. That's why the more things are sorted and ready to go, the faster we can unload.

Many VOLUNTEERS are needed.

Every member will be contacted to see how you can be involved.

It really helps if you call or e-mail us.
